Dear PS21Q Families and Staff,
Welcome back to all returning families and a big WELCOME to all new families.
We are very excited to be serving as your PTA for the 2017-2018 school year. As
we begin a new school year we have many wonderful things planned and are
excited to get started!
As with every year, the PTA needs YOUR help. With the City and State budget
crisis, PTA support is more important than ever before. The PTA raises funds to
provide a wide range of educational enrichment programs, family events and
school supplies for our students. Money raised through PTA membership,
fundraisers like our successful Candy Sale, Movie Night and Plant Sale help to
fund class trips, enrichment programs, books, classroom supplies to all grades,
and much, much more.
As the new school year begins, we once again ask for your support so that we can
continue making resource and learning opportunities available to our children.
We would appreciate a donation of$25.00 per family, which helps us get our
school year off to a great start.
All parents of children who attend PS21 Q are automatically members of the PTA.
For the PTA to be effective and truly representative of the school, everyone's
participation is essential. Parents sometimes feel that they cannot participate in
the PTA because they work or have other commitments during the school day.
Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and
your talents are truly needed. There are endless ways you can help. You are part
of the PS21 Q community and our students need you.
Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy being with the kids,
become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a
difference. Research shows that students whose parents/families are involved in
their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise that
the time you give to the PTA and the school will be worth your while-and fun!
Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all
The PTA welcomes you to join our meetings to raise your concerns and contribute
your ideas and talents to better our school. Meetings are usually held on the third
Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the school auditorium. Please see the PTA
calendar for the exact dates.
We would like to thank you in advance for your support. If you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Have a wonderful school year
and we look forward to seeing you at our first PTA meeting, September 19th
